Amjad urges shoppers to back Bradford’s businesses

Conservative MEP, Amjad Bashir, has urged Bradford’s shoppers to back small businesses in the city, following a visit to local Bicycle shop, Pennine Cycles.
Amjad made the visit following his recent appointment as the Conservative Party’s spokesman on Small and Medium sized Enterprises, in the European Parliament.
Pennine Cycles, owned by husband and wife duo Paul and Sandra Corcoran, is set to celebrate its 70th birthday later this year.
Following the visit Bashir said “It was great to visit Pennine Cycles and see some of the fantastic products that Paul and Sandra stock.
“I urge all fellow shoppers in Bradford to support their local SMEs. Very often, local independent businesses offer a unique product and go above and beyond in terms of the customer service that they offer.
“This is certainly the case for Pennine Cycles which is how they’ve created such a strong and unique position for themselves within the Bicycle market.
“It was fascinating to hear that some orders come in to Pennine Cycles as far afield as Canada, Switzerland, and even Dubai – it’s great to see a local business continue to flourish”.
Paul Corcoran, Managing Director at Pennine Cycles said “We are thrilled that our Yorkshire Member of the European Parliament took time out of his busy schedule to visit us and learn more about our business. It’s great that he is dedicated to supporting local businesses.”
